Hengshui Zhanhe Engineering Rubber Co., Ltd. supplies two-component sealant and related engineering rubber products to contractors, distributors and infrastructure projects worldwide. A base compound and a curative are mixed on site and gunned into the joint, where they cure into a rubber-like elastic seal that follows joint movement.
This article explains the working principle, main types, typical applications, installation points, selection criteria, standards and frequently asked questions about two-component sealant, and is intended for engineers, purchasers and project managers.
A base compound and a curative are mixed on site and gunned into the joint, where they cure into a rubber-like elastic seal that follows joint movement.
Working principle: The product works through elastic deformation and mechanical interlock to provide reliable sealing or load transfer.
Two-Component Sealant is manufactured and inspected according to applicable national and industry standards. Hengshui Zhanhe Engineering Rubber Co., Ltd. carries out batch inspection before delivery, and inspection certificates together with third-party test reports (where required by the project) can be provided.
Typical standards applied to this product family include Chinese national and transportation industry standards; equivalent international standards can be referenced upon request.
A: Tack-free time is normally within 24 hours at 25°C and 50% relative humidity, but full cure of a deep bead may take 3-7 days. Keep rain off for the first 24 hours and allow more time in cold or humid weather.
A: It controls the depth and stops the sealant bonding to the bottom of the joint. Three-sided bonding tears the sealant as the joint opens, and over-deep filling in a wide joint is a common cause of cracking and loss of adhesion.
A: Too little curative leaves the bead permanently soft; too much makes it cure fast and turn brittle. Weigh both parts rather than judging by eye, and mix until no streaks remain.
A: Cut out the old bead and any failed bond line down to sound substrate, remove the dust, prime and refill. Where only part of the joint is renewed, test compatibility between old and new material on a small area first.
Quoted by weight or by the paired A plus B pack. Cost depends on the base polymer, filler loading, curative, packaging and mixing accuracy. Polysulfide grades commonly fall between 15 and 35 yuan per kg, with polyurethane slightly lower. Estimate volume as joint width times depth times length, convert using a density of roughly 1.3-1.6 kg/L depending on the formulation, and add 5%-10% for waste.
Packing: standard export packing (woven bags, pallets or wooden cases). Delivery terms: EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF or DAP as agreed. Payment terms: T/T, L/C or other terms subject to negotiation.
