Hengshui Zhanhe Engineering Rubber Co., Ltd. supplies slope protection net and related engineering rubber products to contractors, distributors and infrastructure projects worldwide. A flexible steel wire net system that either stabilises the slope surface or intercepts falling rock, covering both active and passive SNS systems.
This article explains the working principle, main types, typical applications, installation points, selection criteria, standards and frequently asked questions about slope protection net, and is intended for engineers, purchasers and project managers.
A flexible steel wire net system that either stabilises the slope surface or intercepts falling rock, covering both active and passive SNS systems.
Working principle: The product works through elastic deformation and mechanical interlock to provide reliable sealing or load transfer.
Slope Protection Net is manufactured and inspected according to applicable national and industry standards. Hengshui Zhanhe Engineering Rubber Co., Ltd. carries out batch inspection before delivery, and inspection certificates together with third-party test reports (where required by the project) can be provided.
Typical standards applied to this product family include Chinese national and transportation industry standards; equivalent international standards can be referenced upon request.
A: It depends on rockfall size and slope condition. For broadly weathered slopes with small blocks, an active cover net is more economical. For steep, high slopes with large blocks and something to protect below, install a passive barrier at the toe or mid-slope. Steep high slopes often use active above and passive below.
A: It is the impact energy the system can reliably arrest, in kJ, commonly graded from 250 kJ to 5000 kJ. Estimate the energy from block mass and arrival velocity and choose a level above the calculated value with a margin, rather than judging by block size alone.
A: They yield plastically before the net and posts, absorbing part of the impact energy and limiting the force transmitted to the anchor ropes and posts so the anchorage is not pulled out. Deformed rings cannot be reused and must be replaced after an impact.
Active nets are priced by area, commonly 80-200 RMB per square metre, driven by anchor length and density, net specification and the difficulty of the terrain. Passive systems are priced by energy level per linear metre, with a 500 kJ class typically 800-1500 RMB per metre. Labour, plant and material transport such as cableways or secondary handling often exceed the cost of the materials themselves.
